Joe Boakai Points To Experience - Holds The Hands Of God For Victory

Presidential hopeful and current Vice President of Liberia believes his experience, international stature and the will of God will thrust him to the leadership of one of West Africa’s richly endowed nations, the Republic of Liberia.

Joe Boakai who had served as Vice President to the outgoing President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf for 12 years of their joint ticket in the republic, has since brushed pundits claims aside to assume the front-runner status among others as the candidate to beat in the forthcoming October 10th national election in the West African nation with a projected population of a little over 5 million people.

Some respondents spoken to by our correspondent in Liberia are of the view that the country needs a peacemaker and stabilizer at this point after fighting a gruesome civil war that left the country nearly ungovernable and fragmented and is still undergoing a healing process thus requiring a steady hand.

Liberia, a resource-rich West African nation needs an experienced, pragmatic and courageous leader who will both be a unifier and peacemaker to sustain the current effort at reconciliation and national healing. The country which has been sharply divided among natives and returnee Africans from North America founded in 1822, declared their independence in 1847. The country is still struggling to re-establish itself as a major powerhouse in the region.

Boakai has the international stature, respect and exposure to attract nation-building support to the West African nation which is in dire need of progress in a number of areas including education, agriculture and the management of its fossil resources claimed Bryant Wesley.

Our correspondent observes that Joe Boakai has the added advantage of having worked with the outgoing administration and therefore is expected to hit the ground running toward creating a new Liberia when elected president.

Our correspondent reports that his final campaign rally across Liberia appears to be large crowd pulling a pointer to his possible acceptance and likely emergence as the next President of Liberia although a run – is possible going by the closeness of independent national polling results conducted by several opinion gazers in the country.

Other contenders in the Liberian presidential elections include Mr Charles Walter Brumskin, football legend George Weah and among others.
