PDP Set To Announce Obasanjo Comeback As Makarfi Storms Abeokuta

Emerging report indicates a possible return of the former President Olusegun Obasanjo to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

TM News recall that Obasanjo publicly dumped the party by tearing his official membership card in the build-up of the 2015 general elections.

However, having set up a reconciliation committee, the national leaders of the PDP have been making move to have the former President return back to the party under which he won the 1999 and 2003 election.

The latest report says the National Caretaker Chairman of the PDP, Ahmed Makarfi met with Obasanjo in a closed-door meeting.

The meeting is said to be holding in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

The parley whose agenda is unknown is taking place at the Green Legacy Hotel and Resort, Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, OOPL, Abeokuta.

Neither Obasanjo nor Makarfi is yet to make any statement as to the reason and outcome of the meeting as at press time.
